Running a roleplay community is partly creative work and partly moderation work, and MYRPW’s World roles are built around that split.
Roles inside a World
- Owner — founded the World, sets its lore and visibility, and can promote or demote members
- Moderators — promoted by the owner, can help manage membership and enforce the World’s own rules
- Members — everyone else who’s joined and can write inside the World’s Rooms and lore
Public versus private membership
A public World lets anyone join immediately. A private World routes join requests to the owner (or promoted moderators) for approval or rejection — useful if you want to keep tighter control over who’s writing in your setting, at the cost of a slower on-ramp for new members.
What gets logged
Moderation actions inside a World — promotions, demotions, removals, and membership decisions — are recorded in a moderation log the owner can review. That’s separate from platform-wide safety tools: reporting a person or a piece of content still goes to MYRPW’s own moderation team, on top of whatever a World’s owner handles internally.
A practical note for new owners
Decide your moderation approach before you need it, not during a dispute. A short, visible statement in your World’s lore or description — even a sentence — about what’s and isn’t welcome saves you from adjudicating it from scratch the first time it comes up.
